Charles Smith was a London based map seller who at the time of publishing his, 'Smith's New General Atlas Containing Distinct Maps of all Principal Empires Kingdoms, & States Throughout the World Carefully Delineated from the best Authorities extant', was 'Mapseller extraordinary to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales'. This map if from this atlas which has a publication date on the title page of 1809 where the engraved maps have dates of 1808.
