Title	Lindeman Island
Description	Lindeman Island was named in 1870 and is the oldest of all the resort islands in the Whitsundays. As early as 1923, Angus Nicolson established a camp for visitors on the island. It was very primitive and it is said that Angus used to advise his ‘campers’ that ‘anytime you run short of bread bring me your flour and I'll cook you some damper. If you want meat, then shoot a goat. But don’t get shootin’ them for sport’.

Born in Victoria and studied at the National Gallery School Melbourne. He left art in the 1940’s resuming in 1960’s. He was fascinated with pirates for which he is best known.

Thomas Friedenson 1879- 1931
Born Leeds, Yorkshire 10th July, 1879 and died in Cannes Frances on 4th June, 1931. Painter and etcher arrived in Australia in 1921. His studio was in Sydney and while he was in Australia he was inspired by the Australian bush. Represented National Gallery.
